It has secured an additional $50 million in a funding round led by Linse Capital, with participation from insiders including Braemar Energy Ventures and Constellation Energy. ChargePoint has now raised over $164 million from leading investors including Rho Ventures, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, BMW iVentures and Siemens. This week, the California Energy Commission (CEC) proposed to award nearly $4 million to ChargePoint to complete the West Coast Electric Highway, which connects British Columbia to Baja California with fast charging stations for electric vehicles (EV). ChargePoint today applauded the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) for its unanimous vote to authorize San Diego Gas & Electric to develop a pilot program to deploy 3,500 electric vehicle charging stations in the San Diego area. This comes on the heels of a separate CPUC decision two weeks ago to approve a ground-breaking proposal from Southern California Edison to deploy 1,500 charging stations across its territory. Read More
