ChargePoint Praises New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's Commitment to Electric Vehicles Today in Annual State of the State Address

CEO Pasquale Romano Applauds $9 Million Commitment to Charge NY Program, Plan to Deploy Fast Chargers Between New York City and Albany

Campbell, Calif. – Pasquale Romano, CEO of ChargePoint, the world’s largest electric vehicle (EV) charging network, today issued the following statement applauding New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on his $9 million commitment to the Charge NY program, which will support up to 800 more EV charging stations around the state, and his plan to deploy DC fast chargers at rest stops along the Thruway to facilitate long-distance travel between New York City and Albany:

We applaud Governor Cuomo for his continued commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by promoting EV adoption and supporting EV infrastructure investments across New York.

“Adding up to 800 more EV charging stations around the state – including DC fast chargers along the heavily traveled Thruway between New York City and Albany – will make it even easier for New Yorkers to make the switch to fueling their cars with electricity.

“By making this significant investment in charging infrastructure, Governor Cuomo and the State of New York are not only supporting EV adoption and long-distance EV travel, but they are reaffirming the Empire State’s commitment to cleaner air for future generations.”
