The charging station is the first of six stations located in and around the coastal town of Lincoln City. The official unveiling of the station takes place on Monday, January 11, 2010 at 4:00 pm at the Public Parking Lot on SW 51st Street. Available to the public, the event will also feature two electric vehicles, city officials and Charge Northwest representative Jim Blaisdell.
Open to the public, the Lincoln City charging stations will also be used for city fleet cars as they move to zero emission vehicles. Charge Northwest (www.chargenw.com) is the authorized distributor of ChargePoint Networked Charging Stations from Coulomb Technologies in the Northwest.
"We have identified three great locations where a charge can be done easily and quickly, while drivers enjoy the amenities of the immediate surrounding areas,” said Lincoln City Urban Renewal Director, Kurt Olsen. “In addition to the SW 51st Street location, two stations will be installed in north Lincoln City at the Community Center and two others in the center of town."
