Car Charging Group Announces National Rollout of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations at Walgreens via the ChargePoint Network

MIAMI BEACH, FLA. AND DEERFIELD, Ill. (July 26, 2011) – Car Charging Group Inc. (OTCBB:CCGI) today announced it has agreed to provide electric vehicle (EV) charging services to Walgreens (NYSE:WAG) (NASDAQ:WAG)  through the Coulomb Technologies’ ChargePoint® Network. Car Charging Group was awarded the contract by Walgreens, the nation’s largest drugstore chain, to provide public EV charging services at select Walgreens locations throughout the country.

Car Charging Group will install, manage, maintain and own the EV charging stations on Walgreens properties throughout the United States.  The EV stations on Walgreens properties will provide flexible payment options, the ability to make reservations, and tracking of customer usage patterns, energy use, costs and revenues, all via the ChargePoint Network’s cloud-based software service plans for managing EV charging operations.  Car Charging Group’s EV services installation will also provide Walgreens customers with access to ChargePoint Network’s 24/7 driver support and mobile phone applications, which include station location and real-time availability, reservations, turn-by-turn navigation, and charging status.

“A network of public charging stations is essential in alleviating the fear of range anxiety,” said Michael Farkas, chief executive officer of the Miami Beach, Fla.-based Car Charging Group. “Forward-thinking companies such as Walgreens, understand the importance of publicly and conveniently located EV charging station infrastructure, and by installing this eco-friendly amenity will be able to offer their customers a chance to charge their EVs.”

“We have convenient locations along many major commuting corridors and Walgreens is well positioned to be an ideal host for EV charging stations,” said Walgreens President of Community Management and Operations Mark Wagner. “As a provider of health and wellness services in communities, we are pleased to be a destination for adopters of this green technology and for those committed to reducing their impact on the environment.”

Car Charging Group provides EV charging stations at no charge to property owners/managers while retaining ownership, thus allowing their partners to offer their customers, tenants and employees charging services with no out-of-pocket expenses. In addition, Car Charging Group’s partners realize a percentage of the charging revenue generated by the charging services paid for by the EV owners -- customers, tenants and employees.
