Contest Rules

Term:
ChargePoint’s first Annual Photo Contest begins December 4th, 2012 and ends December 21st, 2012, at 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST). By submitting an entry, each contestant agrees to the rules of the contest and states that they are 18 years old or older.

Who may enter:
Photographers 18 years old or older—except for individuals affiliated with ChargePoint including employees, and their immediate families (children, siblings and spouses) and others living in their households—are eligible. ChargePoint will determine winners’ eligibility in its sole discretion.

Categories: 

• Holiday – Decorate your favorite ChargePoint EV charging station in festive décor; garland, tinsel and lights.
• Scenic:  Submit your favorite EV charging station in a scenic environment; flowers, mountains, bodies of water, snow, sun. 
• Signage:  EV installations are everywhere, but clear and visible EV signage is not. Send in your favorite, clever and best example of EV parking signage.
• Retail:  Does your favorite retailer support welcome you and your EV?  Return the gift of giving and send in a photo!
• MDU: If you live in an apartment, townhome or condo and drive an EV, send in a photo where you charge.
• Parking facilities: Send in your favorite parking lot photo. Many parking facilities are taking extra steps to go green by installing EV charging stations.  Send us your favorite.
• Other: Do you know of a solar, wind turbine or other clever ChargePoint EVSE installation? Send in a photo! Pet and baby photos earn extra bonus points.

Cropped photos are eligible in all categories. Minor adjustments, including spotting, dodging and burning, sharpening, contrast and slight color adjustment or the digital equivalents, are acceptable for all categories.

For a photo in which a person is recognizable, you must secure a model release from the subject or, in the case of a minor, the subject’s parent or guardian and provide it to the ChargePoint upon request.

Photographs that have won any other contests or have been published in magazines and newspapers  are not eligible. We define winning as having won a grand prize of 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place overall. Photos that violate or infringe upon another person’s rights, including but not limited to copyright, are not eligible.

How to enter:
Please submit photographs via email to photo@chargepoint.com.

High-quality scans of non-digital photographs are acceptable. Digital photographs should be taken at the highest resolution possible. Use the on-line entry form on our website. Complete a separate form for each photo submitted. Photographs must be in a .jpeg, .jpg or .gif format. Files submitted may not be larger than 2,048k (2Mb).

By entering the contest, entrants grant ChargePoint a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, for any educational, promotional, publicity, exhibition, archival, scholarly and all other standard ChargePoint purposes. Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible. ChargePoint will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.

Entry deadline:
All entries must be received through ChargePoint web site by 2pm Eastern Time on December 21, 2012.

Judging:
Judging of the annual contest will be conducted by Team ChargePoint. Winning photographs will be announced on December 28, 2012. Decisions of the judges will be final.

The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. ChargePoint reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. Decisions of ChargePoint will be final.

Prizes:
Grand Prize:
Free charging for a year, beginning January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2013 up to a maximum $1000.00.  ChargePoint will not pay for parking fees, charging stations outside of the ChargePoint network or any other cost outside of the associated charge.

Category Winners:
The winners of each of the categories will receive a special honorable mention prize.
