That depends on your current set up and which station you purchase. Here’s a tip sheet for your electrician who should be able to provide you a quote.

Can I use my dryer outlet?

Most existing high power plug outlets found in a garage like a dryer outlet won’t work because they typically use a 30 Amp circuit. Home requires a dedicated 20 Amp (for the 16A/12 RPH) or dedicated 40 Amp (for the 32A/25 RPH).

Can I change my dryer outlet (NEMA 14-30 amp) to a NEMA 6-20 outlet? Will it then work with the Home 12, 16 Amp, plug station?

No. You must have a licensed electrician install a 20 A breaker, confirm the existing wiring is adequately sized and install the NEMA 6-20 outlet.

Can I use a 50 amp breaker with Home 25 (32 amp station)?

No. Have a licensed electrician install a 40 Amp breaker for use with Home 25 and confirm the existing wiring is adequately sized.

Can I use a 40 amp breaker with Home 12 (16 amp station)?

No. Have a licensed electrician install a 20 Amp breaker for use with Home and confirm the existing wiring is adequately sized.
