The Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) announces $10M in funding for the Community Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Grant Program) in support of low and moderate income, overburdened, and underserved communities in the state. The program offers funding in three categories: EV Infrastructure Planning, EV Make-Ready, and EVSE Installations. For EVSE installations, the chargers must be located on public or community-oriented properties, or at multi-family housing properties. Both Level 2 and DCFC are eligible and funding will be provided in the amount of up to $15,000 per port for Level 2 chargers and up to $80,000 per port for DCFC, depending on power level.
Eligible applicants include private, non-profit, Tribal, and government entities. This is a first-come, first served program and applications are accepted on a rolling basis until March 28, 2025 or until all program funding has been awarded.
