The California Energy Commission’s (CEC’s) Clean Transportation Program announces the availability of up to $10,000,000 in grant funds for projects that will install light-duty electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in rural communities. This solicitation is open to all public and private entities including California Native American Tribes and Tribal Organizations. Projects must install a minimum of 50 charging ports or have a charging output of at least 900 kilowatts (kW). Additionally, at least 50% of the project’s charging ports must be located within a disadvantaged of low-income community. Level 2 and Direct Current Fast Chargers (DCFC) are both eligible with a maximum award of $4,000,000 per applicant. This is a competitive solicitation with applications due by May 23, 2025.
