Statement from ChargePoint CEO, Pasquale Romano on Governor Brown’s Executive Order on EV Charging

“Governor Brown’s Zero-Emission Executive Order committing California to the installation of 250,000 electric vehicle charging stations, including 10,000 DC fast chargers, by 2025, marks a significant milestone in the evolution to electric mobility.  This $1.25 billion investment is the largest of any state in the country and will accelerate the state’s efforts to put 5 million electric vehicles on the road by 2030.

“Once again, Governor Brown and the State of California are demonstrating true leadership not only at home, but across the country and around the world.

“The commitment of $1.25 billion will attract and leverage private investment to ensure that e-mobility options support cutting edge technologies that will support innovation, maintain our technology leadership, and provide options for all drivers including those in low income and disadvantaged communities.

“ChargePoint, the world’s leading electric vehicle charging network, was founded ten years ago in California. We have grown to be a global company thanks to the forward-thinking EV policies adopted by the State and Governor Brown during his tenure.

“We look forward to our continued work with Governor Brown, California Air Resources Board Chairwoman Mary Nichols, the California Energy Commission, and other state leaders to transform this bold vision into reality.”
