Say goodbye to range anxiety – for good

EV Life |

A child, a dog and a parent share joyous smiles as they peer out of a car window.

Oh, the places you’ll go. Or rather, we’ll all go.

That’s right. The new year has got us dreaming about what’s next: the next road trip, the next dream in reach, the next peak to climb in the atmospheric and hopeful rise of EVs.

When we think about the year ahead of us at ChargePoint, we think about what’s next. And how the Electric Revolution is constantly redefining what’s possible.

The average EV range in the EU has more than tripled since 2010. Take that in. It’s a staggering fact. Today, we can go beyond dreaming to planning our wildest EV adventures, cruising from:

  • Frankfurt to Zurich (on less than a full charge)
  • Frankfurt to Copenhagen (in an EV with max range)

Not on the continent? Consider driving from:

  • Manchester to London (on less than a full charge)
  • London to St. Andrews (in an EV with max range)

The list of what’s now possible for EV drivers is endless.

We know many people want to take the exciting leap and join the Electric Revolution but still feel some lingering range anxiety. We get it. Change is scary. But we’re here to tell you that you have nothing to fear. You can get everywhere you need and want to go in your EV. And the hottest new EVs in 2024 for distance are only part of the puzzle. Having the world's leading EV charging network in your back pocket doesn’t hurt either.

What does the increased EV range mean for me?

Discover how far an EV can travel on a single charge.

DACH EV range map

The average EV range’s exponential growth year after year means you can drive farther on a single charge without stopping. Twelve years ago, the average EV could take you on a local road trip before you’d have to charge. Today, you can comfortably cross multiple country lines with battery power to spare. You can drive from Frankfurt to Copenhagen on a single charge. From Paris to Milan. From London to Edinburgh. EV and battery technology just keep getting better and better – already far exceeding the distance the average European driver covers daily.

We’re grateful to know and trust that EVs can now travel farther than ever before, and charge even faster when we’re in a hurry.

EV batteries keep getting better and better

EV batteries keep getting more powerful, enabling farther driving ranges, faster charging times and lower costs for drivers. Now drivers can wake up ready to hit any road – driving as far as 516 miles (~ 830 km) in 2024 on a single charge. And that distance will only continue to grow year after year.

With EVs and EV batteries, the best is yet to come.
