Coulomb Technologies today announced support for the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) decision that companies that sell electric vehicle charging services to the public will not be regulated as “public utilities.” Coulomb Technologies, a maker of networked infrastructure for electric vehicles participated in the proceeding. Coulomb argued that by treating a charging station as competitive access to the grid as opposed to being a regulated utility, the Commission can foster competition in the nascent infrastructure marketplace and help facilitate rapid deployment.

Coulomb Technologies today announced that six ChargePoint® Networked Charging Stations for electric vehicles are now installed at six Central Parking Systems parking garages in downtown Houston. The Central Parking downtown locations are: 300 Clay, 500 Jefferson, 600 Jefferson, 601 Jefferson, 1600 Smith Street and 340 West Dallas, all in the 77002 downtown area. A map showing all 23 Houston-area ChargePoint stations locations, including the six just installed for Central Parking, can be found at www.mychargepoint.net.

Coulomb Technologies today announced that its ChargePoint® Networked Charging Stations for electric vehicles has an Underwriter Laboratories listed CT2100 product family that is compatible with the Nissan LEAF. Coulomb, which has the largest established installation of networked charging stations worldwide, successfully completed extensive compatibility testing with the Nissan LEAF at the company’s engineering facility in Farmington Hills, MI. All Nissan LEAFs will be able to charge at any 240v CT2100 ChargePoint charging station in the United States.

Siemens Energy, Inc. and Coulomb Technologies, Inc. today announced a joint marketing agreement for an integrated electric vehicle product offering in the fast-moving market for e-mobility and state-of-the-art electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) technology, including electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
