The Government of Canada has allocated $9 million in funding to support public electric vehicle charging along transportation corridors in high priority areas through their Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP). Eligible applicants include legal entities incorporated or registered in Canada or abroad, including not-for-profit and for-profit organizations. Projects must be located within 1.6km of an eligible corridor and in a high priority area. A minimum of one (1) public DC fast charger (DCFC) providing at least 100kW must be co-located with additional chargers for a total site output of at least 150kW and the chargers must be publicly accessible 24/7. The program will provide up to 50% of total project costs (or up to 75% for Indigenous businesses and communities) with a maximum of $2 million per project. This is a first-come, first-served opportunity with applications currently accepted through the Transportation and Fuels Decarbonisation Programs Portal.
