Why are sessions started without a ChargePoint account being treated differently?

Sessions started by tapping an EMV contactless card will initiate a flat £15 hold because the transaction is authorized without upfront session details available to ChargePoint as a merchant. You can create a ChargePoint account to lower your pre-authorisation hold to the amounts specified above.

Charging sessions initiated through a ChargePoint account can also help identify your transaction type and verify you are the cardholder tied to a card’s use.
