What are the circles on the map for?
The number in the circle indicates the total number of charging spots in an area. Tap the circle for more details.
The numbered circles (sometimes called blobs) on the map indicate how many ports exist within a given area when you are browsing the map at a zoomed out scale. These blobs keep the map clean instead of overlapping dozens of individual pins. Blobs are always black, and the number inside tells you the total number of ports in that geographic area.
When you zoom in, blobs resolve into site pins (a group of stations belonging to a single organization). Site pins are green when at least one port is available and black when chargers are unavailable, in-use or unknown. The number to the right of the bolt shows the available port count (when the Available Quick filter is turned on) or the total port count (when it is turned off).
Tap a circle to zoom in and resolve it into smaller circles or individual site pins. Keep tapping or pinch to zoom until you see a site, which represents a single location. Tap a site to open the site card which includes details about that specific location. Zoom in further to see station pins.
Stations are represented by colored pins and badges as explained below:
- Circled numbers (blobs): Indicates the total number of charging ports in an area. Colors show status breakdown. Tap a circle to zoom in.
- Green: Charging spot is available.
- Blue: Charging spot is in use.
- Gray: Charging spot is out of service or closed; status unknown. If a circle is gray, it is good to use filters. Turn on My EV and Available filters to narrow down spots that you can actually use at the moment.
- One bolt: Slow charging (Level 2).
- Two bolts: Medium charging (Medium DC).
- Three bolts: Fast charging (DC Fast).
