Driver app access changes FAQ
Why is ChargePoint making this change?
We're focusing the ChargePoint app in Europe on drivers who are set up through their employer, fleet manager, or car leasing provider.
Am I affected?
If your access to the ChargePoint app isn't set up through an employer, fleet company, or car leasing provider, you'll no longer be able to use the app to find, start and pay for charging. All impacted drivers will receive an email notification in advance of any changes to their account.
If you charge through a workplace, fleet, or similar program, you are not affected.
What if I’m charging when the cutoff happens?
Your session in progress will finish, though sessions still open 4-8 hours after the cutoff may be closed.
What happens to my ChargePoint app account?
Impacted accounts will be closed and drivers will lose access after June 22, 2026.
What happens to my wallet balance?
If you have a remaining balance, you can request a refund to your payment method on file following this link. Refunds may take up to 90 days after your request.
To request a refund of your remaining balance, please [submit this form]. Refunds will be issued to the payment method specified in your refund request once we validate your account details and determine eligibility.
I'm connected through my workplace or fleet program but also have a personal balance. What happens to it?
Your account will remain active through your workplace or fleet program. Your personal balance will remain available for use.
If I’m connected through my workplace or employer, can I still charge at public stations?
Access to public charging outside your program may depend on how your organization has set up your account. If you’re unsure, we recommend checking with your organization.
What about my receipts and charging history?
You will have a limited period after the change to access your account to view/download receipts or charging history.
Can I still use my ChargePoint RFID card?
RFID cards linked to affected driver accounts can no longer start charging sessions after the app changes.
Does this mean I can’t use ChargePoint stations?
No. ChargePoint stations will still be discoverable with other applications and drivers will still be able to charge using supported access methods such as tap-to-pay with a credit/debit card or via third party roaming networks.
Does this mean ChargePoint is leaving Europe?
No. ChargePoint continues to invest in Europe and remains committed to supporting drivers, station owners, and partners across the region.
Who can I contact for support?
If you have questions about your account or need assistance, please contact ChargePoint support.
