Today, ChargePoint – the largest network of independently owned electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in the world – launched its newest advancement in charging technology, the CT4000 Series. This revolutionary new product is the first charging station to meet the needs of the expanding EV market, specifically addressing two major obstacles – the cost of installation and the growing demand for charging spots.


ChargePoint, Inc. today announced the completion of its ChargePoint America Program with more than 4600 shipments and installations of its home, public and commercial charging ports for electric vehicles (EVs). In May 2010, ChargePoint was awarded a $15 million dollar matching grant funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act through the Transportation Electrification Initiative administered by the Department of Energy. Additionally, the California Energy Commission allocated $3.4 million in funding for the installation of residential and public electric vehicle charging infrastructure within California.



ChargePoint, the world’s largest network of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and the services division of North American lighting leader OSRAM SYLVANIA today announced a reseller agreement. Under terms of the agreement SYLVANIA Lighting Services (SLS), a subsidiary of OSRAM SYLVANIA and leader in lighting installation and energy management solutions, will sell and install commercial and public ChargePoint EV charging stations in the United States. SYLVANIA Lighting Services is an established ChargePoint installer, having recently installed 33 EV charging stations in the City of Austin, Texas.


BMW, ChargePoint and Drive Now have teamed for BMW’s Sustainability Bay Area Hackathon focusing on one of the fastest and rapidly growing industry sectors, electric vehicles, EV charging and mobility services. More than 200 developers, entrepreneurs, electric vehicle experts and corporate executives are expected at the weekend event focusing on sustainability issues facing our future as a greener planet. The event takes place at the BMW Group Technology Office USA at 2606 Bayshore Pkwy Mountain View, CA on Saturday, April 27 through Sunday April 28, 2013. The Hackathon is hosted by the BMW Group Technology Office USA and sponsored by ChargePoint, Inc. and DriveNow.


In celebration of Earth Day 2013, ChargePoint, Inc. the largest network of electric vehicle charging stations, today announced it has teamed with BMW’s premium, electric car sharing program DriveNow to showcase the benefits of electric vehicles and EV charging in the workplace. ChargePoint’s EV charging stations will be showcased and test drives of the fully-electric BMW ActiveE will be offered on the Bay Area campuses of leading Silicon Valley companies including Microsoft for Earth Day events.


ChargePoint and the City of Sacramento today announced that the City has reached a significant milestone with more than 100 electric vehicle charging stations installed in and around the California State Capitol. Many of the 100 installed EV charging stations were made possible by a State and Federal grant funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act through the Transportation Electrification Initiative administered by the Department of Energy and the California Energy Commission. This project has served to accelerate the development and production of electric vehicles to substantially reduce petroleum consumption, reduce greenhouse gas production, and create jobs. There are more than 500 electric vehicles registered in Sacramento including the Nissan LEAF, Chevrolet Volt, Prius Plug-in and Ford Focus Electric. Public electric vehicle charging infrastructure has made it possible for Sacramento to migrate to a cleaner form of transportation.


ChargePoint, Inc. announced the first of more than 80 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations it will install around New York, through a $1 million incentive from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). The EV charging station installed at The Solaire in Battery Park City is ChargePoint’s first installation of what will be part of a significant NYSERDA EV charging station investment. The Solaire, developed in 2003 by the Albanese Organization is the nation’s first LEED Gold-certified residential building. ChargePoint is the largest network of EV charging stations in the world, with more than 11,000 charging spots installed.



ChargePoint, the world’s largest electric vehicle charging network, today announced its entry into the Atlanta market with the installation of networked EV charging stations. Lanier Parking Solutions, headquartered in Atlanta, facilitated the placement of six ChargePoint EV charging stations at locations in Downtown, Midtown, and Buckhead, with the location of a seventh charger to be determined.
