Communities in Charge (Wave 4)
California incentive
The California Energy Commission (CEC) is offering $56.5 million in funding for Wave 4 of the Communities in Charge program. This round will focus exclusively on multi-family housing (MFH) and MFH related sites. Incentive amounts are divided across the state by region, including Northern, Central, Eastern, and Southern. The program will support Level 2 equipment with a minimum requirement of four (4) ports and a maximum of forty (40) ports per site, with a base incentive of $8,500 per charging port. An additional $3,500 per port is available to project sites supporting Tribal entities, governments, or communities. This is a competitive solicitation opening on August 5, 2025 and closing on January 9, 2026.
