US DOT: BUILD Program FY26

The US Department of Transportation (DOT) is offering $1.5 Billion for public entities including states, local governments, tribes, port authorities, and transit agencies for surface transportation projects, potentially including charging infrastructure*, through the Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) Program FY26. DOT will provide reimbursement of up to 80-100% of total eligible project costs depending on project and applicant type. Applications will be evaluated competitively and are due by Feb 24, 2026.
*NOTE: Although this program has opened, the guidelines are still under construction. If substantial changes are made to the program, this will be noted.
