The California EV Alliance announced that the California Energy Commission today awarded $474,052 for the deployment of EV charging infrastructure in the San Francisco Bay Area. A consortium of EV industry leaders developed the Bay Area Charge Ahead Project to deploy 37 charging stations -- and a total of 74 individual charge ports -- across 18 locations in 10 municipalities. The consortium led by the California EV Alliance includes ChargePoint, ABM, the Bay Area Climate Collaborative, and ten municipalities.


ChargePoint, the largest and most open electric vehicle (EV) charging network, announced today that it has secured an additional $22.6 million in funding. ChargePoint has now raised over $110 million from leading investors,including Rho Ventures, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB), BraemarEnergy Ventures, Siemens Venture Capital GmbH, Voyager Capital and BMW.

This new offer includes hardware, software, ChargePoint connectivity and advanced services such as installation, deployment planning, project management and ongoing maintenance. Together Schneider Electric andChargePoint deliver a complete EV charging station experience for host station owners and EV drivers. With this partnership, SchneiderElectric makes it easier for EV drivers and station owners to leverage ChargePoint, the world’s largest and most open EV charging network.



Nissan today announced the expansion of its successful “No Charge to Charge” promotion, which will provide two years of no-cost public charging with the purchase or lease of a new NissanLEAF. In total, Nissan will launch “NoCharge to Charge” in 25 U. S. markets, which are currently responsible for more than 80 percent of Nissan LEAF sales.




ChargePoint, the largest and most open electric vehicle (EV) charging network in the nation has joined the San Francisco Giants as a sponsor for the 2014 season. AT&T Park, the home of the Giants, currently has 4 ChargePoint public ports. In 2012, AT&T Park became the first ballpark in the country to offer public EV Charging.

ChargePoint, the largest and most open electric vehicle (EV) charging network in the nation, has gathered a list of the most EV friendly vacation spots. The list is based on proximity to a large city and number of ChargePoint EV stations at the destination. Each location is equipped with multiple charging stations and are within a practical distance from major cities for EV drivers. Charging stations are often located at hotels, theme parks or the parking lots of major attractions.
