The California Energy Commission (CEC) announces $79 million in funding available through Round 3 of their National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program. This program seeks to strategically deploy DC fast chargers (DCFC) to support light-duty EV travel along major corridors. Each charging port must supply 150kW simultaneously with a minimum of four (4) ports and a maximum of twenty (20) networked ports at a given location. The CEC will cover up to 80% of eligible project costs for awardees providing a minimum of 20% match share. Private entities, excluding investor-owned utilities, and California Tribal Organizations may apply. This is a competitive solicitation and applications are due March 25, 2026.
