Federal Tax Credits for All U.S. Drivers (Including You!)

Up to $1,000 Back for Home Charging

The U.S. federal tax credit gives individuals 30% back on a ChargePoint Home Flex EV charger and installation costs (up to $1,000). Just buy and install by December 31, 2021, then claim the credit on your federal tax return. Grab IRS form 8911 or use our handy guide to get your credit.

Home Station Tax Credit

Up to $7,500 Back for Driving an EV

Get a federal tax credit of up to $7,500 for purchasing an all-electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle. Home EV Charging Incentives in California

  • Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) is offering rebates for electric vehicle charging stations for residents that are AMP customers. Get up to an $800 AMP rebate on the purchase and/or installation of a new electric vehicle charger.

  • The Anaheim Public Utilities PEV Charger Rebate Program offers a rebate of up to $500 to customers that install a ChargePoint Home at their residence. In addition to the rebate, the City’s permit fees related to the installation of the EV charger will be waived. Rebate applications will be accepted subject to availability of funds.

  • The Burbank Water and Power (BWP) Electric Vehicle Charging Station Rebate offers rebates of $500 for ChargePoint Home. Rebates are limited to one per BWP residential account. Charger must be new and have a purchase and installation date of July 1, 2015 or later. Application must be submitted no later than four months from the date of purchase and are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until rebate funds are exhausted.

  • The Colton Electric Utility EV Charger Rebate Program has rebates of up to $500 are available to Colton Electric Utility customers who install Level 2 (240V AC) plug-in chargers at their residence or business. 

  • The Glendale Water & Power EV Rebate Program offers a $500 rebate to single family residents who install a ChargePoint Home. Rebate applications will be accepted subject to availability of funds.

  • Imperial Irrigation District is offering a rebate of up to $500 to customers who purchase and install a qualified Level 2 (240V) home charger.

  • Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) Charge Up LA! is offering rebates of up to $500 for the purchase of a qualified Level 2 (240-volt) charger. LADWP also offers special rate plans for charging EVs. Applications for this first-come, first-served rebate opportunity will be accepted until rebate funds have been exhausted.

  • The Liberty Utilities Drive Program rebate budget of $1,750,000 is allocated between Residential and Small Business customers and available on a first-come, first-served basis until the rebate budget has been paid and/or fully reserved. The rebate may pay up to $1,500 of eligible costs to install the charger at your residence. Eligible costs include charging equipment, installation labor, permitting, design, and other required upgrades to the existing electrical system necessary for the installation of the electric vehicle charger.

  • The Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) PEV Charger Rebate Program provides a rebate of up to $400 to PWP residential customers who notify PWP about the purchase or lease of a qualifying EV and install a ChargePoint Home at the address shown on the PWP electric account. Applications for this first-come, first serve rebate opportunity will be accepted until rebate funds have been exhausted.

  • Redding Electric Utility (REU) is offering up to $500 account credit for the cost of installing a ChargePoint Home (up to 2). See the REU Residential EV Rebate Application for complete list of terms and conditions.

  • Riverside Public Utilities home customers who install a Level 2 (240-Volt AC) plug-in charger at their residence in the service territory, on or after July 1, 2021, are eligible for up to a $500 rebate.

  • Qualified Sonoma Clean Power (SCP) customers are eligible to receive a free EVSE that can be connected to Wi-Fi and communicate with the SCP GridSavvy Community. Customers are responsible for shipping and installation costs.

  • The South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) and Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC)’s Residential EV Charging Incentive Pilot Program provides up to a $250 rebate or the cost paid for the charger, whichever is lower. Low-income residents can qualify for a total rebate of $500 or the cost paid for the charger, whichever is lower.
