ChargePoint and Constellation Join Forces to Allow Electricity Supply Customers to Charge Up for No Money Down
Campbell, Calif. – ChargePoint, the world’s largest and most open electric vehicle (EV) charging network, and Constellation, the nation’s largest competitive energy supplier to businesses, will launch a new program allowing Constellation customers to fund new ChargePoint stations through Constellation’s Efficiency Made Easy (EME) program. Through EME, businesses may be eligible to purchase state-of-the-art ChargePoint EV charging stations (including installation, service, and warranties) through their Constellation electricity or gas supply agreement.
Constellation’s EME enables its commercial and industrial supply customers to implement energy efficiency and other solutions without up-front capital expenditures. The costs of these solutions are included over the term of a customer’s supply agreement. In cases where customers are utilizing EME for efficiency measures, they may realize immediate savings on energy costs from reduced energy use.
By adding ChargePoint to Constellation’s growing list of channel relationships, Constellation’s EME program continues to allow its customers unique access to the best, most cutting-edge and innovative solutions in green technology. ChargePoint is excited to help expand the breadth of technology offered via the EME program through its EV charging stations.
“Constellation is always looking for new and innovative energy solutions for our customers,” said Divesh Gupta, manager, energy solutions for Constellation. “Efficiency Made Easy allows customers to implement technology such as ChargePoint’s EV charging stations to better manage their energy use and support their environmental goals – without an upfront investment.”
“By offering charging stations, installation, service, and warranty with no upfront capital, this channel partnership is a great example of how energy companies can help to spur EV growth the right way,” said Pasquale Romano, CEO of ChargePoint. “Minimizing the upfront cost to buy and install charging stations and providing customer choice, makes it possible for even more businesses to offer EV charging to their employees and customers.”
ChargePoint is the largest and most open electric vehicle (EV) charging network in the world, with more than 24,000 charging locations. Ranked #1 by leading independent research firm, Navigant Research, ChargePoint makes advanced hardware and best-in-class cloud based software. ChargePoint’s open network is utilized by many leading EV hardware makers and encourages all EV charging manufacturers to join.
ChargePoint’s real-time network information including the availability of charging locations throughout the nation is available through the ChargePoint mobile app, online and via the navigation systems in top-selling EVs including the new BMW i3 and the Nissan LEAF. A driver connects to a ChargePoint station every 8 seconds and by initiating over 11 million charging sessions, ChargePoint drivers have saved over 10 million gallons of gasoline and driven over 245 million gas free miles.
