Can I see my EV's state of charge (SoC) in the ChargePoint app?

Yes. Once you link your EV using your OEM account credentials, the ChargePoint app pulls your real-time state of charge (SoC) and the remaining range directly from your vehicle.

Navigate to Account > My EV to access the current SoC percentage and the remaining range estimate.

Additionally, when you build a route, the start SoC is pre-filled from the live vehicle data. You can see the SoC percentage and the remaining range update as you drive, provided the ChargePoint app is open. The End-of-Trip SoC slider is used to plan how charged you want to be when you arrive at your destination.

ChargePoint reads SoC percentage and range from the OEM each time you open My EV or Route Planning in the app, and at regular intervals while the app is foregrounded.

If the vehicle is offline (parked in a basement or sleeping deeply) the SoC percentage shows the last known value with a time stamp so you know how recent the information is.

After a charging session ends, refreshed SoC typically appears within a few minutes once the vehicle reports back to the OEM.

If you have not linked your EV, the SoC percentage will not show in My EV or Route Planning automatically. You can still use the manual SoC slider in Route Planning to enter your current SoC.

Tips:

  • Remaining range is an estimate; actual range depends on speed, temperature, terrain and HVAC use.
  • If SoC looks stale, refresh the My EV tab. If it remains stale, your vehicle may be offline or your OEM token may have expired. Navigate to Account > My EV to re-link the vehicle.

Note: ChargePoint reads battery, range and location only when the app is open and authorized. You can revoke access at any time from either using the ChargePoint app (Account > My EV > [vehicle] > Disconnect OEM Account) or your OEM account portal.
