What are the ChargePoint app community guidelines?

ChargePoint's community features let drivers help each other find, evaluate and report on charging stations. To keep the community useful and respectful for everyone, the same set of guidelines applies across the app, wherever you can contribute content.

Note: Driver Tips are no longer supported in the new ChargePoint app. The Leave a Tip entry points have been removed.

You can share content or feedback in the following sections of the app and make sure to follow the community guidelines when you do so:

Station photos: Any image you take and upload from the Port Details page.

Photo comments/captions: The optional caption you add when uploading a photo, and any reply or comment on another driver's photo.

Report a Problem: The description, category and any photos you submit when reporting a station issue from Port Details.

Sessions: The Join Waitlist banner or the Current Session view.

Site and station feedback: Any feedback fields in the app, including comments shared through the in-app Chatbot or the support by navigating to Help > Contact Us.

Connections: Any free-text fields while browsing, submitting or managing Connections with host organizations.

Any other area of the app where you can submit text, photos or feedback that may be seen by other drivers, station hosts or ChargePoint support.

Here are some rules you should follow that will help you enjoy the community features of ChargePoint.

  • Please avoid inappropriate content, including threats, harassment, lewdness and hate speech.
  • Keep photos, captions, comments and problem reports relevant and accurate.
  • Do not spam or post promotional material or links to external sites.
  • Respect copyright. Only submit content you have created or have permission to use.
  • Do not include personally identifiable information about yourself or others (license plates, faces of other drivers, phone numbers, home addresses).
  • Be constructive in Report a Problem submissions; describe what you saw, when you saw it and what you tried, so the station owner and ChargePoint support can act on it.

ChargePoint reserves the right to remove submitted content, restrict your ability to upload photos or submit reports, and suspend or terminate access to community features at any time when these guidelines are not followed. Repeated or serious violations may result in account-level action.

If you see a photo, caption or comment that violates these guidelines, tap the flag or report icon next to it. Our team reviews flagged content and takes action when appropriate.
