Fuel Transformation Program (FTP)

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) announced up to $28 million in grants through its FY 2026 Fuel Transformation Program to cut diesel pollution and move fleets toward cleaner technology. The grants can support the replacement or repowering of diesel buses, freight trucks, locomotives, ferries, tugboats, marine engines, forklifts, cargo equipment, airport ground equipment, and shore power systems at Great Lakes ports. Funding amounts will cover the cost of any new vehicle(s), including charging infrastructure associated with all-new electric vehicle(s). Individual awards will range from $50,000 to $5 million with some government-owned or all-electric projects eligible for up to 100% funding.
