The Iowa Department of Transportation is administering the Volkswagen Settlement Environmental Mitigation Trust Level 2 Community Charging program (Funding Cycle 4), a competitive grant with $1,558,588 available this cycle. Eligible applicants include for-profit businesses, non-profit organizations, and federal, state, local, or tribal government agencies. Funded sites may be located anywhere in the state and must be publicly accessible 24/7. Eligible projects include the purchase and installation of networked Level 2 EV charging stations at community-facing locations such as retail, hospitality, parks, and other destinations with driver amenities. Government applicants may receive up to $45,000 or 90% of eligible costs per site, and all other applicants up to $40,000 or 80% of eligible costs. Awards are issued on a reimbursement basis.
