The New Jersey DEP Electric School Bus Grant Program provides $15,000,000 to support schools moving towards cleaner, healthier electric school buses. When purchased with a new electric school bus, DEP provides up to $4,000 per Level 2 charging port (up to $8,000 per Level 2 charging station) with a maximum combined project cost of $338,000 per school district; and up to $20,000 per DC Fast Charging station with a maximum combined project cost of $350,000 per school district. Schools, school districts, and school bus contractors are eligible to apply; however, school bus contractors must apply in conjunction with a specified school or school district. Applications are due on August 28th, 2026 by 5PM E.T.
