What can I do with the ChargePoint app?

The ChargePoint app allows you to find available stations, start charging and get notifications. You can track all your charging activity, get driver tips and see station details, such as popular charging times and station photos.

The ChargePoint app is your all-in-one tool for public, workplace and home EV charging. Here is what you can do:

  • Find stations and start charging:
    • Browse the largest public charging network in North America and Europe using the ChargePoint Driver App map.
    • Use Quick filters (Available, Fast, My EV) or Advanced filters (networks, connector type, amenities, station status) to narrow down your search.
    • See real-time station status, popular charging times, photos and on-site amenities on the site page.
    • Start a session by tapping Start Charge in the app, using Tap to Charge with Apple Pay or Google Pay via Adyen, or with your RFID card.
    • At Omni Port stations, pick the right connector (NACS or CCS1) before starting.
  • Navigate and plan:
    • Get in-app turn-by-turn navigation to any station.
    • Use Route Planning to build a charging-aware trip between two points, with suggested stops based on your EV's range, current state of charge and a target end-of-trip SOC slider. This feature is available for select users only.
  • Manage your charging:
    • View your charging activity, monthly statements (with options to share and in-app browser view) and charging trends over time.
    • Set up notifications for charge complete, charge interrupted, receipts, and customize push and email notifications.
    • See sessions broken down by cost, energy and distance.
  • Manage your account:
    • Add and edit vehicles powered by the new and updated EV database for accurate model, trim and connector coverage.
    • Activate, edit or delete RFID cards.
    • Add and manage payment methods, including Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal.
    • Redeem Promo Codes and view your balance.
    • Set distance units (km/mi) and see currency in your local format.
  • Connect and contribute:
    • Browse and submit Connections to host organizations (employer, building, fleet), to extend access, offer pricing and amenities at their stations.
    • Add photos of stations in Ports > Chargers, so other drivers know what to expect.
    • Tap Report a Problem to register complaints and feedback for the station.
  • Waitlist:
    • Join a waitlist to virtually queue for a station.
    • Use Notify Me to get an alert when a spot opens up.
    • Save waitlists for favorite stations.
  • Home and work charging:
    • Set up and manage your ChargePoint Home Charger from the app, schedule charging, set up reminders and pairing.
  • Other platforms and channels:
    • Access widgets (iOS Lock Screen and Home Screen, Android) for charging status, nearby stations and waitlist.
    • Use CarPlay and Android Auto for in-vehicle app access.
  • Help and support:
    • Use the in-app Chatbot for guided answers on start and stop charging, station questions, pricing and billing.
    • Visit the new Help section under Account. Access Public Charging FAQs and Contact Us.
