Alabama incentive
The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs’ (ADECA) NEVI Round 3 Program has $52M available towards the installation of DC fast chargers (DCFC) with up to $2 million set aside for workforce development projects. Sites must be publicly available at all hours and include at least four (4) DCFC delivering 150kW per port simultaneously with both CCS and NACS connectors. Eligible sites must be located within 4 driving miles of an Alternative Fuel Corridor (AFC) and no more than 100 miles apart. Designated AFCs include Interstate 10 (I 10), Interstate 20 (I 20), Interstate 22 (I 22), Interstate 65 (I 65), and U.S. Highway 231 (US 231). Applicants must provide a minimum 20% match with higher match amounts receiving higher scores. Both new sites and upgrades of existing DCFC sites are eligible, provided the upgraded site is brought into full NEVI compliance. This is a competitive solicitation with applications due June 4, 2026.
