The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (Illinois EPA) has $20 million in funding available through the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA) for Level 2 and DC fast charging (DCFC) stations. This program funds the construction of EV chargers at public locations across the state. Qualified applicants may receive up to 80% of total eligible costs and up to $40,000 per DCFC port, or up to $4,000 per Level 2 port. A minimum 20% cost share is required. Additional funding is available for stations installed in Equity Investment Eligible Communities. Projects will be scored on a first-come, first-served basis until December 31, 2030, or funding is fully allocated.
